Meet New Friends

Casa de Mañana’s residents are more than just like-minded individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds. The friendships you form here last a lifetime.

Take Felice Prensky and Lucille Spitz. Felice and Lucille have been friends for more than 50 years, from the time they met as young housewives and mothers in Mount Vernon, New York. Then Felice came to California for a visit and fell in love with Casa de Mañana. She moved here and convinced Lucille to follow. After one look, Lucille knew this was home. Now Felice and Lucille can have lunch together every day.

Ethel Jordan and Norma Blunt may not have 50 years of history together, but you’d never know it from talking to them. They first met when Norma was touring Casa de Mañana as a prospective new resident. After a brief introduction, their mutual interests in both music and golf were realized, and the rest, as they say, is history. Today, Norma and Ethel attend every musical event at Casa together, and venture out to the San Diego Symphony as well as the Summer and Winter Pops concerts. They golf together every Monday and Tuesday at nearby Mission Bay. Ethel and Norma’s relationship transcends casual friendship – they have become like family.

“I’ve grown to love Norma, love everything about her. I know she will always be there for me and I will for her, doing anything in the world for each other.  I’m so lucky!”

- Ethel Jordan
